Welcome to the Pottstown Dance Theatre



The Pottstown Dance Theatre was founded in 1964 to provide exceptional education in the art of dance. In 1972, it became the home of the Schuylkill Valley Regional Dance Company; a non-profit organization that performs "The Nutcracker", as well as other dance concerts at the Hill School Center for the Arts, in Pottstown. The school offers classes in Ballet and Pointe, Tap, Modern Dance, Jazz, African Dance, Hip-Hop, Creative Movement, Mommy & Me, Irish-Style, and Pilates. We base the ballet program on the Vaganova Syllabus, as set up by the school of the Kirov Ballet in Russia. We welcome the student who works toward a career in dance, as well as the student that dances purely for the joy of movement and the benefits that transfer into daily living.
